There exists a huge gap between the availability of lucid but analytical development literature and it’s demand by the development workers and people in general. Realizing the importance of making such publications available to the communities at the rural and remote places SVA has been working closely with
"Gaunli Vichar". The name Gaunli Vichar stands for villagers thought and emphasizes more on promoting the wisdom of the villagers and the common people. Gaunli Vichar over the years has published, printed and reprinted varieties of books, booklets, leaflets, journal, posters, study reports, activities reports and other reading materials on the following issues/topics/subjects. In addition SVA also brings out a monthly bulletin called
Gram Swarajya Abhiyana (in Oriya) which reaches to about 1500 villages and towns in Orissa with readership of over 25000 people.
- Local Self Governance/Panchayati Raj/Village Self Rule.
- Drought, Soil and Water Conservation, Plantation, Forest and Non Timber Forest Produces (NTFP).
- Sustainable Development Issues, Alternative Field Experience and experiments.
- Sustainable Agriculture/Organic Farming/Appropriate cropping pattern, Indigenous Seeds and Animal Husbandry etc.
- Organization and organizational activities.
- Health and Sanitation.
SVA also makes educational video C.Ds on various themes which are used by many organizations involved in training and Capacity building in Orissa.
